There’s no doubt about it – everyone has bad days from time to time. Surely you experience it some days too, to feel that the day is bad right from the beginning. Either because some setback may have occurred or because you woke up wrong.

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that you have to fill your day with a hundred things to make it a great day. Even if you did just one activity, if you had fun or if you just rested, it is already worth it. So to improve a day that didn’t start well, do one of the following:

  • Write

Sometimes, keeping your feelings locked inside can make them flare up and get worse. Unfortunately, we don’t always have people readily available to discuss them. This is where pen and paper become our best friends. Whether you have a special notebook like a journal or just a white sticky note, write down your thoughts and feelings.

  • Socialize

Having someone available to talk to (human or pet) can instantly lift your mood, even on a bad day.

  • Strengthen your spirituality

Engaging with your spirituality can be a wonderful way to express and accept your feelings when you’re having a bad day. You will find many different ways to tap into your spirituality and help your bad day get better.

  • Feel your emotions

Avoiding emotions for some, works. For others, the more they try to avoid an emotion, the worse the day usually gets.

When you’re having a bad day, avoiding an emotion isn’t always a bad thing, especially if your mind has been affected and you’re overthinking. But if your bad day is connected to a specific event that made you feel bad, it’s also important to acknowledge and express how you feel.

  • Distract yourself

It’s a fact that we make bad days much worse because we overanalyze what we think or feel. So why not engage in something that will help distract you from your emotions?

  • Do your hobbies

Hobbies are not only fun and enjoyable, but they can also serve as a great distraction to make even the worst days. Whether you try something you love or a new hobby, you’ll feel much better.

  • Treat yourself

A bad day can definitely be fixed with a treat to yourself. A little skincare, a relaxing bath, a good night’s sleep or just a manicure will make your day much better.

  • Detox from technology

Sometimes, technology can become a huge bad mood amplifier. Especially Social Media or annoying DMs, can spoil your mood even more or fill your day with unnecessary information, when you are looking for a way to relax.

  • Clean up

For some, cleaning is fun and relaxing (like me, by the way – hi mom!) and in this case, it can serve as a great distraction. Plus, when you’re done, your house will be spotless!

  • Remodel your space

A small change in the furniture of your space can change your mood and make your day. Renewal is always important and the look of a new room will make you happy. Finally, if your time is limited and you don’t have time to do the above, then just try the following: Take 5-10 deep breaths Splash cold water on your face Stretch Drink a glass of water Count to 100 Send a message to a friend Google: Funny cats
