A year after the Grammy party where he was criticized for being frowny, Ben Affleck appears joking about the situation in a commercial for the Dunkin Donuts coffee chain.
In the advertising film, the actor decides to reverse his sullen image and launch himself as a rapper. “How difficult can this be?”, he asks, and then calls several producers offering “some beats” and trying to sell himself as the new pop artist.
However, Affleck reveals himself to be a pretentious and clumsy aspiring singer. In one of the commercial’s most comical moments, he asks the producers “who is TikTok.”
“They said you’re not good enough,” he laments to himself, sitting on the couch with a box of donuts. “That you are a middle-aged white man, clumsy, without rhythm, out of tune and uncoordinated. Does that mean I can’t be a pop star? That’s what you’ll see”, he responds, with a defiant air.
Jennifer Lopez, the actor’s wife, shared the commercial on her social media. The couple’s fans and friends praised the marketing action.
“J.Lo and Ben trolling the internet always kills me,” wrote a follower of the singer. “God bless your union, you are incredible”, praised actress Zoe Saldana. “Simply hilarious!” said another internet user.
