Singer Gusttavo Lima is the newest businessman in the football business. The countryman became a majority member of SAF (Sociedade Anônima do Futebol) of Paranavaí, a club in the interior of Paraná, which competes in the state’s Second Division.
Gusttavo Lima acquired 60% of the shares and became the club’s owner. The remainder of the percentage will be divided between Full Sports and other investors, while Paranavaí maintained 1%. The total transaction for the sale of SAF was around R$3 million.
The new owners of Paranavaí committed to investing in the club’s youth categories and also putting together a strong team to seek access to the state elite – last year the team was champion of the Third Division of the Paranaense Championship.
Furthermore, VaideBet, a company for which Gusttavo Lima is an ambassador, will also be one of the sponsors of Paranavaí. The company recently closed a million-dollar contract worth R$370 million with Corinthians and continues to close other sponsorships. “This partnership opened a new horizon for me and brought me a greater connection with this field of sports”, began the countryman.
The singer, who denied rivalry with Wesley Safadão, in July last year, then continued: “I already have a friendship with some players and I feel that several of them just need an opportunity to have their talents revealed. So, we decided to create a good base of professionals and we will use this entire structure to move Paranavaí, which already has a promising team. I’m sure it will be another successful project for all of us!”,
