The influencer who loves to travel, Jessica Gee, known as “The Bucket List Mom” ​​has visited more than 90 different countries in the world.

She is accompanied on these trips by her businessman husband Garrett and their three children, Dorothy, Manilla and Calihan.

According to Jessica, everything changed when her husband—whom she first met while on a mission in Vladivostok, Russia—sold his app to Snapchat for $54 million in 2014 and decided to quit his job.

“We were in a weird situation that maybe not many twenty-somethings have been in,” he admits. “We had gotten rich and we didn’t know what to do. So we decided to put everything aside and see what’s in the world.”

The couple, who have been married since 2009wanted to experience different cultures and “just learn a little about the way of life in other countries.”

So they started planning a big trip to Southeast Asia and decided to open an Instagram page to document their adventures and share them with the world.

The name page “The Bucket List Family” , now has 2.9 million followers and every day that number is growing. Who doesn’t want to see videos and pictures of beautiful parts of the world anyway?

After putting their money into savings, they sold their furniture and most of their possessions, raising about $45,000, and began traveling the world with Dorothy and Manilla — Callihan was born while they were on the trip — in August 2015.

They had originally planned to spend a few months traveling, visiting Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia, as well as the Pacific islands of Fiji and Tonga, but after briefly returning to the US, they decided they wanted to continue.

“The small bit of travel turned into three years of full-time work,” adds Gee, who just released a travel guide, The Bucket List Family Travel , in collaboration with National Geographic.

The family went on to visit dozens of countries around the world, including Germany, Morocco, Japan, Brazil, Guatemala.

Traveling with children

Gee makes sure her kids feel included in their travel plans before they set off anywhere. How does he do it? The children pack their backpacks, their books and their toys and are ready for another great adventure. “So as soon as they get on the plane, they’re so excited to get out the toy, the book, and the snacks that they prepared beforehand,” she explains.

“One of the best ways to make traveling with your little ones less painful is to choose to be positive. Many times things will become tiring and stressful, but if you have a positive attitude, everything will go much better, because if you “lose it”, they will “lose it” too”, says the mother and adds that it is always it’s good to have a backup plan in case something goes terribly wrong, such as losing your luggage at the airport.

“The only thing we miss when we’re traveling is our friends and family, we’d love for them to be with us,” says Gee, adding: “we’d also like the kids to play sports, as in this life it’s hard have a strict training schedule.”
