The names of 15 candidates who are vying for a position in the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” for 2024.

Mariah Carey, Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, Peter Frampton are among the artists on the list for the first time, along with Sinead O’Connor who passed away last July aged 56.

Also Foreigner, Kool & the Gang, Oasis along with Lenny Kravitz and Sade.

It’s the second nomination for Mary J. Blige, Eric B. & Rakim, Jane’s Addiction and Dave Matthews Band, and the third time for Queens rap group A Tribe Called Quest to round out the list.

“This remarkable list of inductees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates,” Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation President John Sykes said in a statement.

“Continuing in the spirit of true Rock & Roll, these artists created their own sounds that influenced generations and countless others who followed in their footsteps”.

According to Billboard, Ozzy Osbourne, who earned his first nomination as a solo artist, has already been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Black Sabbath in 2006.

Inductees will be announced in late April and an induction ceremony will be held in Cleveland in the fall.
