Narrator Galvão Bueno, 73, didn’t play hard when asked about his support for a samba school during the Rio de Janeiro Carnival. Carioca da Tijuca, the narrator says he is a Salgueiro fan.
“I always supported the school, but I didn’t announce it (laughs). But now I can. I’m from Salgueirense and Flamengo”, he reinforced in an interview with F5referring to the time when it was not good manners to talk about your preferences for being the mainstay of football broadcasts.
Invited to enjoy the first night of parades by Rio de Janeiro’s samba schools in the early hours of this Monday (12), Galvão even gives his opinion on the plot of the red and white association on the defense of the Amazon and the Yanomami people.
“I really liked it. A necessary topic for our society. A warning. We have to preserve our forests and also think about the climate issue”, he commented.
Galvão Bueno also spoke about football. The journalist lamented the failure of the Brazilian Olympic team to qualify for the Pre-Olympic. Brazil lost 1-0 to Argentina, and lost the chance to win its third consecutive gold medal.
“Unfortunately we are not going to the Olympic Games in Paris. It is a shameful result from a horrible team”, said the narrator.
