Prince Andrew is at the center of the new Netflix movie called ‘Scoop’.
The film concerns the much-discussed interview he gave in November 2019 to Emily Maitlis (Emily Maitlis) for the BBC’s Newsnight show and talked about his relationship with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (Jeffrey Epstein) as well as Virginia Giuffre’s complaints against him.
Based on the book by the former producer Sam McAllister (Sam McAlister) ‘Scoops: Behind the Scenes of the BBC’s Most Shocking Interviews’ which secured the interview for the BBC show starring Gillian Anderson and Rufus Sewell.
The first trailer released shows Anderson as Emily Maitlis preparing with her producer Sam McAllister played by Billie Piper and the arrival of the Duke of York who after the interview is forced into a humiliating resignation his public duties.
“To secure an interview this long, you have to be bold,” reads Netflix’s official description.
Directed by BAFTA winner Philip Martin, the cast includes Romola Garai, Keeley Hawes, Aoife Hinds and Charity Wakefield in the role of Princess Beatrice, who accompanied her father to the much-lauded interview.
“It’s a film about power, privilege, and how—whether in glittering palaces or state-of-the-art television studios—we judge what’s true,” said Philip Martin in a statement.
“Scoop” is expected to premiere on April 5.
