Renata Heilborn speaks out and confirms Marcelo Courrege’s betrayal

Renata Heilborn, former Globo sports journalist, spoke out on social media this Tuesday (13) about her former marriage to Marcelo Courrege. Rumors have been circulating on the web since the journalist and Carol Barcellos started dating during the Carnival parade in Sapucaí last Sunday (13).

Marcelo and Renata had been married since 2014, but the relationship came to an end last year. The two were from Globo’s sports journalism team, as was Carol Barcellos, who was godmother at their wedding and with whom Marcelo had an affair, according to Renata.

In September 2023, columnist Fábia Oliveira, from Metrópoles, reported that Marcelo was supposedly already in a relationship with Barcellos before the separation and Renata confirmed that she was betrayed by her ex-husband. “I found out in the worst way possible that my husband was having an affair with a friend of mine — the maid of honor at my wedding,” she said.

She also clarified that the former couple did not have an open marriage. According to Fábia Oliveira, the couple would not have a monogamous relationship. “My marriage was not open. Let this be very clear,” wrote the journalist.

The journalist also said that the marriage was not going well and that she had already asked for separation from Marcelo a year before the betrayal took place, but only found out in 2023, precisely when she was going through a fragile moment, after resigning from Globo.

“It took me a while to get well, to recover from the disappointment,” said Renata. “I started judging myself because I opened my intimacy to a person who judged my friend. A friend’s betrayal opens a much deeper hole. I didn’t deserve that,” she added.
