In taking immediate measures to fix and restore critical structures of parts of the ancient Fortress of the Tribe, the Ministry of Culture is proceeding. As stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the immediate measures are taken after the positive opinion of the Central Archaeological Council on the architectural study for the restoration of the South Gate, the East Central Gate and the two Towers on either side of it, on the static study of the structural restoration of four critical points, but also the proposal for maintenance, restoration and preservation of the building material of the Ancient Fort of Phylis.

The small-sized Ancient Clan Fortress is located at the southwestern ends of Mount Parnitha, about 10 km northwest of the modern settlement of Phyli. It included a wall, gates and four towers, one of which was circular, while the others were rectangular. Today there are remains of a part of the fortification, about 300 meters long. The monument it has suffered serious damage from earthquakes, especially in 1999 which caused the collapse of the main gate, of the circular tower, the cracking of the eastern Tower, while its condition worsened in the 2019 earthquake. The Ancient Fort of the Tribe crowns the eastern side of the hill, while the western side is steep, naturally fortified, and unwalled.
