Ryan Gosling will perform the Oscar-nominated song live “I’m Just Ken” from the movie “Barbie” on the big night of the 96th ceremony of Oscar Awards.

After months of uncertainty about his appearance Ryan Gosling and his interpretation of “I’m Just Ken” at the awards ceremony, Variety confirmed that the actor will join Mark Ronson on the Oscars stage.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences declined to comment on Gosling’s live performance.

The Canadian actor earned a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role as Ken in the film ‘Barbie’ and is nominated for Best Original Song – for ‘I’m Just Ken’ and ‘What Was I Made For? » by Billie Eilish.

In an interview with Variety in early February, the actor stated that the Academy had not yet asked him to sing.

“It might be too much of a risk to be tasked with doing it. I don’t know how this could work. But I’m open” he had characteristically said.

Mark Ronson, who co-wrote the song with Andrew Wyatt when previously asked by The Hollywood Reporter if he wanted the song to debut at the Oscars, said that both he and the rest of the team “would love to nothing else for Ryan to perform the song” and revealed that for the actor “it was his dream from the first day he was in the studio”.

The ultimate movie night will take place on March 10, hosted for the fourth time by Jimmy Kimmel.
