French fashion designer Lucien Pellat-Finet died last Monday (26), victim of a drowning in Trancoso, Bahia.
The fashion designer was 78 years old and was accompanied by family and friends. Born in Nice, Pellat-Finet became known as the “king of cashmere” due to the colorful and luxurious knitted sweaters he sold through his label, Pellat-Finet.
On Instagram, the designer’s niece, Camille Dauchez, announced his death. “It is with great sadness that I inform you of the accidental death of Lucien Pellat-Finet, this afternoon in Trancoso. At the time, he was in the company of his family and dear friends. In due course, I will inform details of the farewell ceremony”, she wrote .
In the post, friends and fans mourned the designer’s death. French businessman Thierry Gillier wrote: “An agitator, a precursor, a creator, his aura influenced the world of fashion and contributed to the history of fashion. Here’s to Lucien.”
The designer lived in Itaquena, a beach close to CaraÃva. Brazilian friends also regretted his departure. “My sincere condolences, Lucien was a sweetheart. I was very sad when I found out,” wrote a Brazilian friend on Instagram.
