Her romantic creations Simone Rocha have been captivating the womenswear industry for the past decade with a unique interplay of feminine and gothic style.

The first complete book dedicated to the Irish fashion designer and her subversive world, which she creates by drawing inspiration from the work of sculptor and painter Louise Bourgeois, will be published this year by Rizzoli.

The designer has spoken several times about the moving personal work of the French painter and its lasting influence on her work.

Along with Bourgeois’ influence, the 288-page book will also include contributions from Cindy Sherman, Petra Collins, Tim Blanks and Ed Templeton, as well as images from the runway and backstage.

Rocha was born and raised in Dublin and graduated from the city’s National College of Art and Design. She went on to do her Masters in Fashion at the School of Art and Design and launched her eponymous brand at London Fashion Week in 2010.

In 2016 she was awarded the Womenswear Designer of the Year category at the British Fashion Awards.
