Preta Gil says that cancer changed her perception of death: ‘It doesn’t take away my sleep anymore’

Three months ago, Preta Gil announced that she was cured of bowel cancer. However, talking about the disease is still a recurring topic in the singer’s life. She recalled the near-death experience she suffered while undergoing chemotherapy. “When I had sepcemia (sepsis), undergoing chemotherapy, it was a turning point, because I had a near-death experience, I was resuscitated by doctors and I came back,” she said on the Roda Viva program. “The energy of death is of life, if we die it’s because we lived… The blow was huge, so I started to deal with it and today I’m less afraid of death.”

Preta also spoke about the case of Jéssica Canedo, a young woman who took her own life after being identified as an affair with YouTuber Whindersson Nunes. The two denied any type of romantic relationship and at the time, Choquei and other gossip pages on social media published screenshots of supposed conversations between them. Whindersson and Jéssica claimed the material was false.

“First, my condolences to Jéssica’s family. It was an almost announced tragedy, Mynd8 has no connection with Choquei. Choquei was part of the digital banking and left soon after and is no longer part of it”, he noted.

“We saw that there was a political intention in this proliferation of fake news [da ligação da Choquei com a Mynd8], making my connection with what had happened. It was very difficult, because it was untrue. People are not worried about the truth on the internet, they read it and it becomes an absolute truth”, he added
