The KKE expresses its sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
“It is with emotion that we say goodbye to Dimos Moutsis, an inspiring music composer who with his high quality work left a great legacy to Greek song by seriously contributing to its evolution. With the emblematic work “‘Agios Februarios” of 1971, with lyrics by Manos Eleftheriou and with performers Dimitris Mitropanos and Petris Salpeas, he broke new ground in the Greek discography” says the KKE in a statement and adds:
“The Municipality of Moutsis faced its creation with humility, moderation and self-awareness. Refusing repetition, he always sought to bring something new and original to his music. It is his creativity that has allowed him to establish a completely personal mark. His well-known songs – often with lyrics by our great lyricists – are much loved by the general public, they are sung not only in groups, but also in workers’ gatherings and demonstrations. Next to these, the Municipality of Moutsis also leaves us a project of high demands with excellent musicalizations of the works of our leading poets. He and his songs will remain unforgettable».
The KKE expresses its sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
