Will Madonna come to Brazil? Remember the singer’s previous shows in the country

by

The internet has only been talking about Madonna since news broke of an alleged free concert by the singer on Copacabana beach on May 4th. Fans expect to repeat – even on a larger scale – the frenzy of the pop diva’s previous stays in Brazil.

Just over 30 years ago, in November 1993, Madonna performed her first show on Brazilian soil, in São Paulo, at the Morumbi stadium, in the south of São Paulo. The show took place during the “The Girlie Show” tour, lasted two hours and had an audience of 88 thousand people, the largest on the artist’s tour up to that point.

Report from Sheet about the show, he highlighted that the singer showed love to Brazilian fans: she wore the national team’s shirt and sang “Garota de Ipanema”. The singer’s appealing behavior was also remarkable: “It was two hours of delicious pornography for the whole family. Obscene movements were armed with hilarious artificiality”, highlighted the report.

Then, Madonna performed in Rio de Janeiro, at Maracanã, to an audience of 120 thousand people, the second largest of her entire career.

The singer returned to São Paulo and Rio in 2008, with the show “Sticky & Sweet”. She wore sensual black clothes and paraded in a vintage car on Brazilian stages.

In 2012, once again, he sang in both cities on the MDNA Tour. The show had a changing stage: a gothic LED cathedral became a motel inspired by B action movies from the 1970s, just before drummers appeared floating.
