The finale of “Young Sheldon” will be special for fans of the series “The Big Bang Theory,” as Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik return to their roles as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler, respectively.

The final episode is set for Thursday, May 16 by CBS, while it will be streamed on Paramount+ with the plot currently remaining unknown.

It is the first time that these characters will meet again since the finale of “The Big Bang Theory” in May 2019.

“Young Sheldon” is a spin-off prequel to the famous series and revolves around young Sheldon Cooper, who “grows up in East Texas in the 80s and 90s with his family.”

Parsons played him in the original series and Ian Armitage brought him to life in Young Sheldon alongside Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Regan Revord (Raegan Revord), Annie Potts (Annie Potts), Matt Hobby (Matt Hobby), Wyatt McClure (Wyatt McClure) and Emily Osment (Emily Osment).

It is noted that Parsons is one of the executive producers of “Young Sheldon” and has the role of narrator while Bialik lent her voice in two episodes. It’s currently the most popular comedy on the small screen since the show premiered its seventh and final season, Deadline reports.

For this reason a new spin-off got the green light from the channel which will focus on the new challenges of the characters of Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osmed).
