Kate Middleton’s uncle is the first eliminated from the English BBB; royal family breathes a sigh of relief

Ufa! This must be the widespread feeling in the British royal family with the elimination of Gary Goldsmith, Kate Middleton’s uncle, from the English version of “Big Brother”. The program, unlike BBB Brasil, is competed only by celebrities, and Gary was the first to leave confinement, this Friday (8).

His elimination leaves the British royals relieved because of the fear that he would speak on national television about confidential and delicate matters, such as, for example, the health status of his niece — Gary is the brother of Carole Middleton, mother of the Princess of Wales.

During the program, Gary even commented on an episode that was widely explored by the English tabloids: an accusation of domestic violence, for which he pleaded guilty in 2017. He was sentenced to community service and paid R$32,000.

“I’m not perfect and I made a mistake, a personal fight seven years ago that was publicly exposed and that I worked tirelessly for seven years to fix. The offense has long since passed, but my regret remains,” he said, in a tone of regret.

After elimination, Gary said he had a lot of fun on the reality show, and stated that he doesn’t consider himself a celebrity. “I’m just related to someone who’s a huge celebrity.” He faced Lauren Simon, known for the reality show “The Real Housewives of Cheshire”, on the wall.
