The masquerade parade began shortly after 2:30 in the afternoon, with the band and wind instruments setting the musical tone for the dance and with the participation of schools and colleges, city agencies, carnival groups, dance forms, jugglers, stilt walkers, but also with chariot crews, which flooded the avenue, from Riga Feraio to the ISAP station. In fact, some of the crews were students from the schools of the municipality. Among them, the ones with Disney heroes, with Vikings, with smurfs, with mermaids and dudes, with thieves and policemen, with a thousand and one nights, with Disco from the 80s, with… operation Cleopatra, in a crew “boiled in same cauldron’, another was with a circus float, there was the crew with Legos to build the future they dream of, even Bollywood had the parade, while there was also a Primary School and Kindergarten crew with the ‘hippies’, who asked to give peace a chance. A Lost Treasure Hunt has even been organized.
After the end of the parade a youth concert with Lila and the Kings was planned.
Heraklion
A large number of people participated in the “Castro Carnival” organized by the Municipality of Heraklion, through the Vice-Mayor of Culture and the Vice-Mayor of Volunteering. Hundreds of carnival-goers marched with their participating groups, while many people of all ages actively joined in the fun as they watched the carnival-goers’ parade, which began shortly after one in the afternoon.

More than 20,000 little carnival-goers, together with their attendants, took part in today’s big parade of the “Carnival of the Little Ones”, which has been characterized as one of the most lively, creative and promising sections of the national carnival.
Having as allies the spring weather and the inexhaustible carnival mood, the little carnivalists “flooded” the center of Patras, offering a special spectacle with their colorful, tasteful and inventive costumes, giving hope and optimism at the same time.
At the top of the parade of the “Carnival of the Little Ones”, there was the folk music, followed by the floats, which were made in the carnival workshop of the Municipality of Patreon.
In particular, the new floats, “Carnival Baby”, “Travel and Fantasy”, as well as the older ones, “Iguana”, “Carousel”, “Dog”, “Moon”, “Centipede”, “Circus”, as well as the musical chariot.
Immediately after, the 122 participating groups followed, who showed off with their colorful costumes, their creative imagination and their humor, while with their dance and songs they spread fun and joy, turning the main streets into an endless river of carnival. disposition.
The grand parade, which lasted for about three hours, ended with the traditional chocolate war, sweetened by young and old who had flooded the sidewalks of the city center, leaving its own special touch.
