The album references the singer’s divorce from Dalton Gomez
Ariana Grande asked her fans not to express hatred towards the people in her life who they believe she wrote her new album for “Eternal Sunshine”.
The album makes references to the singer’s divorce from Dalton Gomez and her new relationship with Ethan Slater, and some fans have made comments about people she may have written about in her lyrics.
In response, Ariana Grande posted on her Instagram story asking fans to stop commenting.
“Hey, I just wanted to say that anyone sending hate mail to the people in my life based on how they interpret the album is not supporting me and doing the complete opposite of what I would encourage (and also completely misinterpreting the intent behind the music)”the singer wrote.

“I ask you not to. You don’t support me like that. It’s the opposite. Although this album captures many poignant moments, it is also tied to the theme of deep, honest love. If you can’t hear it, please listen more carefully. Thanks” refers to Ariana Grande’s post.
