Xamã is a rapper and his debut as an actor takes place in a prime-time soap opera on Globo. Playing Damião in “Renascer”, he surprises the audience and even the cast with his excellent ease in front of the cameras. rustic heartthrob

“Mr. Jackson Antunes was the first rustic heartthrob and passed that ‘title’ on to me. I’m taking it in stride (laughs). He’s ‘old school’ and it’s been incredible to work and live with him. Mr. Jackson just told me to do it Damião in my own way.”

Nude scenes

“Relax. The team was very careful with every detail. But my first videos also had some nude things. Our body is like a means of transport for us to say what we want. North American rappers always They say that and I have no problem with nudity.”

Repercussion of the butt sticking out

“I thought it was time (laughs). In fact, the repercussion has been great on the streets and I receive a lot of affection from my aunts. They really like Damião and say: ‘don’t kill Zé Inocêncio’ or I ‘saw your butt, boy !'”

Watch the soap opera

“I don’t really like to see it at the time. I see it later to analyze how I’m doing, whether I like it or not. I’m very detail-oriented and I put a lot of pressure on myself. We always want the best.”

Primetime debut

Damian

“He’s a character who speaks a lot with his looks, with his expressions. The look is small, like that, but very visceral.”

Family

“At home, the place we like to watch the soap opera the most is in the kitchen and then there’s that party: ‘Now he’s going to die’ (laughs). My mother has a fan club and she asks us to record videos .”

Show schedule

“I had to slow down and put the shows on the weekends. Did the fee increase because of the soap opera? Look… I think I’m going to buy a cocoa tree there (laughs). I’m going to buy a farm in Ilhéus. What What I noticed is that I now have a much wider audience. The soap opera made me reach another, older audience. I’ve been in music for about eight years, it was time to get out of the bubble. And when you do something that Love, time is different.”

theater

“I really want to do it and I’m just waiting to take some time, organize my schedule more and follow this path. I want that for my life (acting). Reconciling rap with acting. The Notorious BIG, Tupac Shakur and Ice Cube, for For example, they always did that and I had that desire. I do (laughs).”
