Niokastro Pylos is an Ottoman castle – fortress, which is located next to the town of modern Pylos, in the southwest of Messinia. It is one of the two castles that guarded the strategic Bay of Navarino (or Navarino), also known as Pylos Bay.

Niokastro is located at the southern entrance of the bay, while its northern entrance was guarded by the Palaiokastro Navarinou, a medieval fortress of the 13th century, which was built on Cape Korifassios (then known as Cape Zoglou) by the crusaders of the Principality of Achaia.

The Niokastro of Pylos began to be built by the Ottomans in 1573, shortly after their defeat in the naval battle of Nafpaktos. The purpose of its construction was to control the southern entrance to the bay of Navarino, since now the northern access (Steno Sykias or Faltsa Bouka) and the port there, in the lagoon of the Divari or Rivari region, could not be used due to alluvium.

It was named Niokastro in contrast to the earlier fortress of Kyrifasi (Paliokastro or Old Navarino), which controlled the northern entrance and the old port.
