Julie Andrews has no problem closing the favorite chapter of “The Princess Diaries”. In an interview with TODAY.com about her new book that she co-authored with her daughter, an author and educator Emma Walton Hamilton in “Dumpy at School”when asked if there will be a third part of the franchise the 88-year-old actress said:

“It’s been a while since the two Diaries ended and I’m not sure, but sometimes it’s best to leave a good thing alone. I don’t like it when people milk and milk a subject, you know, until it has nothing more to give.”.

It is noted that 23 years have passed since the first film was released in cinemas directed by Garry Marshall. The award-winning actress starred as Queen Clarisse Renaldi alongside Anne Hathaway, who played her granddaughter, Mia Thermopolis, People reports.

Andrews confirmed that there had been “discussions” about the project in the past, but noted that they “didn’t come to fruition.”

“I would be very happy if we did another film. But I’m not expecting it…I could be wrong, but I think it’s on the shelf now.”added the Oscar-winning actress.
