Tallulah Willis revealed for the first time that she has been diagnosed with autism, while speaking about how the disorder changed her life after learning about it last summer.

The 30-year-old actress and his daughter Bruce Willis made the revelation on Instagram, addressing her 402,000 followers, amid her father’s ongoing battle with dementia.

She “uploaded” an older video of her father, who in the past two years has been diagnosed with both frontotemporal dementia and aphasia. It was from the premiere of the actor’s 2004 film The Whole Ten Yards, which also starred a then-10-year-old Tallulah.

“Tell me you’re autistic without telling me”, she wrote in her post. In the video, young Tallulah, who is being held by Bruce Willis as she answers a reporter’s questions, can be seen playing with her father’s ears and repeatedly rubbing her hands against his head.

Her post prompted a follower to ask about her diagnosis. The actress replied: “This is actually the first time I’ve publicly shared my diagnosis. I found out this summer and it changed my life.”

“For the past four years, I’ve been suffering from anorexia nervosa, which I didn’t want to talk about because restricting food seemed like the last vice I could hold on to,” she wrote in an article in “Vogue” in May 2023. She said that at the age of 25 she entered a treatment center in Malibu to deal with both the eating disorder and the depression she was living with.

“It was – to a great extent – a therapeutic experience. For the first time, I mourned my 15-year-old misfit, ugly self.” he added.
