“Luther” star Idris Elba is set to direct the short film “Dust To Dreams” starring famous British-Nigerian singer and ex-husband of Heidi Klum, Seal. He will be joined by Nollywood stars Nse Ikpe-Etim, Eku Edewor and Atlanta Bridget Johnson as well as former ‘Nigerian Idol’ contestant Constance Olatunde.
Against the backdrop of Lagos, Nigeria, the film will focus on the relationship between a mother and her teenage daughter as she meets her father for the first time.
The movie is a collaboration between EbonyLife Films owned by Nigerian media mogul, Mo Abudu and African Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) through Creative Africa Nexus, according to Deadine.
“Elba is one of the most important artists to ever do something like this,” said Mo Abudu about Idris Elba who, in addition to directing, also wrote the screenplay. “I am delighted to be working with Afreximbank and this incredibly talented team. “Dust To Dreams” is a story close to my heart and I’m excited to bring it to life with such passionate collaborators“, he added.
