Preta Gil reveals that she had a platonic passion for Ana Carolina

In an interview with Giovanna Ewbank and Bruno Gagliasso on Surubaum, Preta Gil spoke of an unrequited passion she had for Ana Carolina.

The two singers were friends and, despite Preta’s interest, the relationship never went beyond that. Preta participated in the sex podcast alongside Gominho, with whom she is a long-time friend.

“I fell madly in love with her, we lived a lot in Guanabara, we stayed there night after night. She made the music for me, for me to record, but her inspiration was also a little bit our relationship, which was platonic. I was very much into her, she liked me a lot too, but she didn’t want sex with me”, reported Preta.

The song she referred to is “Sinais de Fogo”, written by Ana Carolina, with the famous chorus “It was behind me in Guanabara”.

“She had something seductive to make me stay there. I was in love, but at the right time, nothing happened”, said the singer. “We never hooked up, I never kissed her. It wasn’t meant to be.”

Still on the podcast, Preta revealed that she is trying to deconstruct monogamous thinking. “People look at me and think I’m crazy, but I’m a straight-faced woman. I’m trying to get that energy from Gominho, Bela [Gil] to try to deconstruct this, I think it will be good for me”, he said.
