Aimé Besson, new Director of the Francophone Film Festival, introduces us to the highlights of this year’s program
Our favorite spring date with the French-language Film Festival of Greece of the French Institute of Greece returns April 2-10, 2024!
A true child of the millennium, the festival completes its 24th anniversary this year and celebrates with a rich program that includes not only 46 feature-length and 11 short films from France and Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg, Switzerland as well as a Greek-French productions, but also tributes, exhibitions, concerts, special screenings and discussions and collaborations with people and institutions from the field of cinema.
Its visual identity, by creative agency The Birthdays Design, focuses particularly on that landmark number that drives cinema, 24 frames per second.
In addition to Athens and Thessaloniki, the Festival will be held simultaneously in Larissa, Patras, Chania, but also for the first time in Kavala and Kastoria, following the route of the Olympic Flame to the Olympic Games in the summer in Paris. The closer connection with Paris can also be seen in this year’s thematic section “Paris without clichés” with 6 classic and modern films that will take us on a journey to the beloved city.
