The Albert Einstein hospital released this Friday (22) a new medical bulletin about presenter Fausto Silva, known as Faustão, who recently underwent a kidney transplant.
According to the document, Faustão remains hospitalized in an apartment and his health condition does not worsen. The bulletin states that the 73-year-old presenter is still adapting to the new organization.
“The patient has been undergoing hemodialysis sessions and is awaiting adaptation of the organ and recovery of kidney function,” says the document.
Faustão “is conscious, talks normally and breathes without the help of equipment”, say the doctors. The note is signed by four doctors who take care of Faustão directly.
The bulletin was released after presenter Milton Neves announced that Faustão had died. Neves apologized and claimed to have had his cell phone hacked.
Fausto Silva was admitted at the end of February to prepare for the transplant due to the worsening of chronic kidney disease. Next, an assessment was carried out on the compatibility of the donated organ.
It was his second transplant in less than a year. In 2023, Faustão underwent a heart transplant at the same hospital, and it was successful.
