Seven actors had the opportunity to “bring” him to life James Bond on the screen. And now, since Daniel Craig gave his last performance as 007 in the film “No Time To Die”, it seems that his successor has been found.

In March 2024, it was reported that Mr Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the new favorite for the role. According to the British newspaper “The Sun”, the actor will sign the contract in the coming days.

The late Sean Connery took on the role of 007 on the big screen in 1962, with the first film in the series, ‘Dr. No”. He went on to star in the next four films – From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball and You Only Live Twice – from 1963 to 1967, before taking a break.

The actor took a break and we saw George Lazenby as Bond in ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ in 1969. But the Scottish actor – who died in 2020 – ended his break with ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ in 1971 and “Never Say Never Again” in 1983.

David Niven

James Bond author Ian Fleming originally wanted David Niven for the role of his famous spy. And although Connery won the first film role, Fleming eventually saw Niven play the role in the 1967 adaptation of “Casino Royale.”

Unlike his Bond colleagues, the late Niven was one of the earliest stars to become a spy. He was 56 when he starred in the film alongside Peter Sellers and Woody Allen.

Although George Lazenby only made one appearance as Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, his performance earned him a nomination for New Star of the Year at the 1970 Golden Globes.

His time as Bond may have been short-lived, but in 2017 he appeared in a Hulu documentary about the role that launched his career, titled Becoming Bond.

Roger Moore “stepped into” the role of James Bond seven times – a record held only by Connery himself. His first film was 1973’s ‘Live and Let Die’, before he took his last ride in 1985’s ‘A View to Kill’.

When Moore died in 2017 at the age of 89, Pierce Brosnan, who would later take on the role of Bond, paid tribute to the actor, calling him his “first real hero” in an article for Variety
