One day at Copacabana Palace and another on the bus, says Sandro Pedroso, now a sandwich seller

Between 2009 and 2013, the life of actor Sandro Pedroso, 40, was in the spotlight. There was always a paparazzo (sometimes more than one) near the places he frequented. During this period he was dating Susana Vieira, 81, the real target of so much interest from the press and the public in news about her routine.

The relationship ended and his life changed. The artist from Paraná, who recalls having been “on the cover of every magazine for six months”, now makes (or tries to make) a living selling sandwiches in a small cafe in Anápolis (GO). And, to his sadness, the business didn’t start as he imagined.

Right at the premiere, no customers showed up. But as the days went by, the movement improved. “Our profession as an actor is unstable and we need another source of income. Who doesn’t like sandwiches? At the inauguration I got frustrated and only took a loss”, says Pedroso to F5.

The frustration became a post on Sandro’s personal Instagram. According to him, publishing a defeat like this on social media was not a marketing move, but it ended up helping customers to show up the next day. The structure is still establishing itself and Pedroso needs to, little by little, consolidate a menu. “Everything is still very embryonic,” he says.

“The important thing is to do a decent job”, points out the entrepreneur and actor, whose debut on TV took place in “Fina Estampa” (Globo-2011). He was also in the cast of “Pecado Mortal” (Record, 2013) and “Gênesis” (Record, 2021), in addition to the reality show A Fazenda 10, in 2018.

The challenging start does not discourage Pedroso, who dreams big. “I’m going to expand my business into franchises in Brazil and around the world”, he believes, remembering that many entrepreneurs started their careers late.

Until that happens, he hopes to have more chances on TV. “Life is full of ups and downs. When I was on the covers of magazines, there was a lot of interest, being famous adds value,” she comments. “One day I was at the Copacabana Palace, loved by everyone, and the next, I was on a bus at the bus station. You have to have a good head, I have friends who freaked out”, he says, about the changes that took place in his career.

Pedroso says he has experienced the “falseness of the artistic world” firsthand and says he has almost no friends in this area. “One moment they invite you to events and then they don’t even look at your face. Most of them turned their backs on me.”
