Visitors have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Da Vinci’s world and life story, with original pages from the Codex Atlanticus
Dedicated to exploring the life of the greatest creative genius the world has ever known, the exhibition – experience “Leonardo da Vinci – 500 Years of Genius» launched at The Lume gallery in Melbourne, Australia is characterized as an ambitious, immersive and exciting experience.
The exhibition highlights his innovation, artistry and timeless genius, and visitors have a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world and life story of Italian Renaissance scholar Leonardo Da Vinci, with original pages from Atlantic Code (Codex Atlanticus), which he wrote.
As part of the experience, original pages from Leonardo da Vinci’s priceless Codex Atlanticus notebooks are on display for the first time in Australia, revealing his insatiable curiosity covering anatomy, mechanics, flying machines and hydraulic systems, it is noted and clarified that they are not to be for a typical art gallery visit, but entering an immersive, digital world where the lines between art and reality blur.
Engaging all the senses with sights, sounds, smells, touch and taste, the intricate chronological narrative recreates the atmosphere of the Renaissance.
The most famous works of art in the world, Mona Liza and Last Supper come to life on a colossal canvas of THE LUME gallery, in whose premises are also presented the “mechanical inventions», on loan from the Leonardo da Vinci Museum in Rome and interactive facilities.
They can even admire the only exact 360° replica of the world’s most famous portrait and peel back its layers to reveal discoveries from its 15-year creation.
Artist, inventor, scientist, philosopher and musician, Leonardo da Vinci not only created masterpieces that have never been surpassed for their beauty, technique and anatomical accuracy. His pioneering contributions to architecture, engineering and flight laid the foundation for many modern innovations, notes the description of the exhibition at The Lume Gallery at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
