Still and creative despite his 81 years, Martin Scorsese (Martin Scorsese) after the movie “Killers of the Flower Moon” and his announcement in January to the Los Angeles Times that he will make a movie about Jesus again, takes on duties of presenter and producer of Lionsgate Alternative Television’s religious documentary, “Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints.”

The new eight-episode series created by Matti Leshem and directed by Elizabeth Chomko will premiere in two parts on the Fox Nation streaming service.

Written by Kent Jones, the new documentary will present “the remarkable stories of eight men and women who risked everything to embody the most noble and complex feature of humanity, faith”, underlines Fox News and reveals that among Saints will be Joan of Lorraine, Saint Francis of Assisi, John the Baptist, Thomas Becket, Mary Magdalene and the Franciscan monk Maximilian Kolbe.

“I’ve lived with the stories of the saints most of my life, thinking about their words and deeds and imagining the worlds they inhabited, the choices they faced, the examples they set,” the ace director said in a statement. “These are the stories of eight very different men and women, each of whom lived in different periods of history and struggled to follow the path of love revealed to them and to us by the words of Jesus in the Gospels.”

The first four episodes of “Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints” will premiere in November with the rest in 2025.
