The full cast for the new theater production of Romeo and Juliet in London’s West End has been announced with debutant Francesca Amewudah-Rivers to embody Juliet alongside her Romeo, who is played by Tom Holland.

The direction has been undertaken by Jamie Lloyd and they will star with, among others, Freema Agyeman, Michael Balogun, Tomiwa Edun and Ray Sesay.

“I am so grateful to be making my West End debut as Juliet with the Jamie Lloyd Company. It’s a dream to join this group of incredible artists with Jamie at the helm. I’m thrilled to breathe new life into this story with Tom and to welcome a new audience to the theatre,” the star, who previously appeared in two seasons of BBC’s Bad Education, said in a statement. and in three short films.

“I can’t wait to get started and I know we’re going to create something really special together,” said Tom Holland in turn.

According to Deadline, Romeo & Juliet runs at the Duke of York’s Theater from May 11 to August 3.
