Marina Spanou, the street musician who has become a social media trend, spoke to Sky about her father, Marina Satti, and her relationship with her parents.

“I write my songs, lyrics and music. I always have my notepad on my mobile and I write from the subway, to a traffic light where I thought of something, or a melody on the mobile that can become a song after a year”, explained the young singer.

“At this stage and because this is how I started, from the street, I do things on my own as much as I can. My bestie is doing my makeup and making me a doll. The hair is mopy panda’s,” he emphasized.

“I never thought of having a career with another surname, I’m very proud of my surname,” she clarified.

On how acting led to the song, she replied: “At some point during the 2020 quarantine, I screwed up and I uploaded a video on Tik Tok that went viral. One day when I was walking in Aeropagitou, I saw a musician there singing, I liked the energy of the landscape so much and I said this is what I want to do. A lot of people came and it didn’t stress me at all, I had a great time. Nobody called the police on me. Just a street musician, they came up and sold me some crack, but I went a little further down and played.”

“I told my dad before that I will sing in the street. I told them, they were upset, but we went with dad and bought the equipment, ten minutes before the store closed. They tried never to influence me and when at one point I told them that I didn’t want to give Panhellenics, they told me to do whatever I wanted,” said Marina Spanou.

“I’ve never seen my father in Extreme Family. I never got to sit down to see her. Everyone thinks my father is my boyfriend. Luckily we look a little alike, because they’ve called him and told him they saw him with a girl and what’s going on,” added the singer.

“I have thought about Eurovision but not for now. I love Marina Satti, I have known her for many years. She sings what she likes and I’m sure she will do very well,” she emphasized.
