You must feel it already: The time has changed, the day is getting longer, the weather is getting warmer. Yes, spring has finally arrived, the time when darkness will give way to light, not only in the sky, but also in our wardrobe. Heavy, dark-colored clothes are now inappropriate and should be gathered to make room for bright colors and light fabrics.

While there is nothing wrong with neutral colors, this season lends itself to bolder choices and bold hues. Spring weather has a tendency to wake us up from hibernation and inspire us to push the limits of our personal style.

The choice of colors greatly shapes the final stylistic result of our looks throughout this season. As the spring 2024 collections and pieces hit the runways and racks, several color trends stand out. Some of them may be expected, while others are definitely a surprise compared to the previous seasons, which moved in softer shades.

The Every Girl highlighted seven colors that will stand out this year and we advise you on how to use them.

  • Bright red

It’s no secret that bright, bold red has been fashion’s go-to color for quite some time now. From shoes, accessories and clothing, to lipsticks that both Marilyn Monroe and Taylor Swift would approve of, the color has been popping up all over everyday wear. This spring, bright red will star. So it’s time to buy that dazzling top or pair of pants. If the color seems bolder than your usual style preferences, you can choose a smaller accessory, such as a hair bow or a pair of shoes, that will add excitement to your outfit. Red sneakers, for example, have become the coveted item of fashion-loving girls everywhere.

Powder blue seemed to have a special role this spring from the moment the season’s trends began to emerge. Fresh and feminine, this shade has something special and is a firm favorite, evoking the aura of the flea markets of the East. From light knits to romantic dresses and statement shoes, don’t hesitate to incorporate this color into every element of your look this spring.

  • Lila

While lavender purple was the ‘it’ color a few years ago, its lighter sibling, lilac, is now coming to the fore. True to the pastel quality that most of us associate with spring, the shade is suitable for “dressing up” our sunniest days. You can pair a lilac skirt or pants with a neutral top for a simple, elegant version of the trend.

  • Gray

If you’re a fan of neutral colors, don’t panic. In this season’s trends, there’s something for you too. Gray isn’t the first color you’ll think of to wear this spring, but it’s an easy and timeless choice that promises effortlessly stylish looks. On those days when the weather can’t really decide what it wants, throw on a light gray cardigan or blazer over your favorite white (or not) top. Light gray is also ideal for office looks and can easily be combined with brighter and bolder accessories.

  • Metallic shades

It probably won’t come as a surprise to you that metallic colors hold a firm place in fashion trends and aren’t going away anytime soon. Indeed, the love for glossy shades continues. Silver takes center stage, but gold is not far behind, effectively adding a sense of warmth to your spring ensembles. Metallic accessories and shoes instantly transform any outfit from boring to stunning, and both are an affordable way to test the trend in a safe way, away from the more eccentric ‘metallic’ outfits.

  • Bordeaux

Most of us have identified the royal shade of burgundy with winter, and not without reason. And yet, the color reminiscent of red, sweet wine came this year to prove that it can remain in our wardrobe in the spring as well. There is something so undeniably timeless and elegant about deep red hues. If you don’t know how to incorporate the color into your everyday looks, burgundy shoes are a particularly popular addition to your wardrobe this spring. Get a pair of burgundy boots, ballet flats or sneakers and combine them with a top in the same shade.

  • Butter yellow

Butter yellow came to the fore as a must-have color last fall and is – perhaps unsurprisingly – making a notable comeback after the end of winter. It is a sweet and discreet shade, ideal for those who are afraid of bright colors and those who love pastel shades. You can embrace the trend, essentially treating it as another neutral shade in your arsenal. Butter yellow trousers pair well with a variety of tops and shoes, while a day dress in this creamy shade can be just the sunny pick-me-up your post-winter wardrobe needs.
