The second part of the radio historical documentary of SKAI 100.3
The series of SKAI 100.3 radio historical broadcasts presented by Aris Portosalte is dedicated to the revolutions that defined the 19th century. Starting with the American Declaration of Independence and the American Constitution, it proceeds to the French Revolution and ends with the Greek revolution.
At the same time, the industrial revolution in England brought changes in production, economy and society. Finally, he analyzes life in Europe of ideas and wars, the end of empires and the birth of nation states.
In the broadcast of Sunday, March 31, Aris Portosalte with Mr. Paschalis Kitromelidis, following the first part of the documentary, further analyzed the introductory chapter that will help us to better understand the events of the 19th century. Starting with the French writer and philosopher Montesquieu whose liberal ideas influenced modern political and social organization, they make extensive reference to the Swiss philosopher and writer Jean-Jacques Rousseau whose political ideas influenced the French revolution. In addition they referred to the founder of Utilitarianism, the English philosopher and jurist Jeremy Bentham and the British philosopher and political economist John Stuart Mill.
