A year after the end of his marriage to Preta Gil, personal trainer Rodrigo Godoy finally spoke publicly about everything that happened. He apologized for cheating on her while she was being treated for bowel cancer and said he needs to move on with his life without being “persecuted for the rest of my existence.” The singer did not comment.

The betrayal was exposed by the singer months after the breakup. “I want to make it very clear that this video is solely and exclusively in search of peace, I don’t want war with anyone. I’m not here to justify myself, I’m here to recognize my mistakes and in some way publicly apologize,” he began.

According to reports, he has been undergoing therapy to recognize his mistakes and seek to evolve as a man, but the internet has dampened his enthusiasm for moving forward.

“The problem is the relentless judges on duty on the internet, who have no idea how much they are causing. And my whole process of self-knowledge and recognition, of seeing everything above, I managed to understand many things in relation to pain”, he continued .

After regretting not being able to go back in time to do something different, Godoy referred to Preta and said that he decided to record this video to lift a weight that has tormented him ever since.

“I am very grateful to Preta for all these years of relationship, for everything we have experienced. Our intimate friends, who lived close to us, know who I am, how much I dedicated myself. However, the end of my relationship has surrendered me the worst judgments of my life. I’m 35 years old, I have a family, people who need me. It’s not fair for me to be persecuted for the rest of my existence”, he added.

In October last year, Preta Gil told more details about the betrayal of her ex-husband, Rodrigo Godoy, on De Frente com Blogueirinha. According to her, he cheated on her for seven months, even after she was diagnosed with bowel cancer.

Preta said she didn’t suspect she was being cheated on and asked herself: “My God, what happened, what went wrong?” “When it starts to calm down, you start to remember things, different situations. It was seven months that the guy was cheating on me, and I didn’t even suspect, I was blind,” she said.

However, the singer stated that the couple was, indeed, going through a crisis: “I followed the marriage, I’m not going to say it was good, but I thought it was a crisis, that we would resolve it”, she said. “We disconnected professionally to see if people would stop fighting,” she commented.

“My diagnosis came in January, I separated from him first, before discovering the betrayal because he abandoned me with cancer. He literally abandoned me”, he said at the time.
