“Heads in”: A political group seeks to limit parties in Ibiza

by

A political organization has launched a campaign to ban all beach clubs and “disco hotels” in the popular summer destination, the island of Ibiza in Spain.

The Ibiza-based Podemos Eivissa political group has called on the regional government to ban parties because they are causing “serious inconvenience” to the island’s residents.

Campaigners argue that the “roar” of loud music at night can be heard miles away.

Last week, the Balearic Regional Government announced plans for a new sustainability-focused tourism law that focuses on “quality rather than quantity”.

Podemos spokesman Fernando Gomez said the group was aiming to “end legal proceedings over one of the most important problems tourism on the island of Ibiza, namely the serious inconvenience caused by beach clubs and hotel nightclubs”. .

The organization, as announced, will submit an amendment to the law on tourism in order to reduce the beach clubs and nightclubs of hotels.
