At the center of international interest are Leipsoi and the “green” initiatives of the municipality and the residents.

In a recent tribute, the British newspaper The Sun states that “in Lipsi the rhythms of life are calmer and more peaceful. An oasis for walkers and nature lovers, the island has avoided the trap of mass tourism, while local authorities and society say “no” to organized sunbeds and umbrellas.

At the same time, Leipsi are included in the Italian list Vanity Fair with the best Greek islands for 2024.

The popular Italian website speaks of an unspoilt exotic destination with clear waters, excellent local cuisine and a holiday philosophy that is far from standard.

“Lipsi has begun to establish itself in the perception of the traveling public, both in Greece and in many foreign countries, as a destination that preserves its natural treasures unchanged, while at the same time great efforts are being made by the municipality to improve the infrastructure, the port facilities and our services. 2023 was a record year for tourism, while there is optimism for the new season as well,” said the mayor of Lipsi, Fotis Maggos.
