Yasmin Brunet removes Medina surname from Instagram profile after alleged kiss

by

Model Yasmin Brunet, 33, decided to remove Medina from her full name on Instagram, belonging to her now ex-husband, surfer Gabriel Medina, 28. This fact happens almost a month after both announced their separation after just over a year. married.

Until then, her name was shown as Yasmin Brunet Medina, but now her last name is no longer shown.

Last Friday (18), according to columnist Leo Dias, Medina was caught kissing with an influencer at a club in São Paulo and seems to have made the line move faster.

Shortly after the end of the union, Yasmin also had to deal with indirections from skater Letícia Bufoni, who was once very close to Medina. “The giant woke up”, she posted to the delight of many followers who understood what she meant by the message.

Before Medina got married, the relationship between him and Bufoni was very close, so much so that they both tattooed each other’s initials on their skin. Some say they had a romance.

The news of the breakup came three days after Medina announced that he would not participate in the first two stages of the 2022 WSL (World Surf League) season to preserve his physical and mental health.

“As much as I want to be in the water surfing and competing, I’m not physically and emotionally up to it. And acknowledging that I’ve reached the limit has been a tough process. Late last year, I injured my hip. Since then, I was doing physiotherapy, I took the vaccine and I’ve been taking care of myself to be well for this year. However, I’m still not 100%”, he said at the time.

A day after the announcement of her withdrawal from competitions, the model supported Medina’s decision in text on social networks. “Last year was a very difficult year for me and for Gabriel. Many times we were massacred without any need. Many lies were told and we had to swallow many things to not take the focus off the competition, because at the end of the day the objective was to make him fulfill his dream of being a three-time champion and we did”, he wrote.

Medina and Brunet got married in late 2020 in a ceremony in Hawaii after less than a year of dating — and without the presence of relatives.

Their marriage, however, was not easy. Shortly after the union, in February 2021, the couple’s problems with his family began to take public shape. Medina and Brunet stopped following his mother and stepfather on social media. Simone Medina and Charles Saldanha also stopped following their son and daughter-in-law’s publications.

According to a report in the Extra newspaper, published at the time, the parents would not have approved the lightning marriage and would be worried about the influence of the model on their son’s career.

In the middle of 2021, Medina and Yasmin became involved in another controversy after the COB (Brazilian Olympic Committee) vetoed the model’s departure to the Tokyo Olympics.

“I also asked if I can take Yasmin, because she has been traveling with me. [COB] they said that she has nothing to do with surfing, that she could not help the delegation. But what about Tati’s husband? [ Tatiana Weston-Webb]? He surfs, participated in the world circuit. I’m just questioning why can’t I take it? It’s the people who help me. It’s not because it’s better, it’s because they are people who are in my daily life. I think it’s right for them to take their team, but I don’t know how difficult it is for me to take my team. Will I have to travel alone? Why just me, you know?”, criticized Medina.
