Sidney Sweeney “threw down” the Hollywood producer who said she “can’t act” and that she “isn’t pretty”, calling her comments “sad” and “disgraceful”.

The 26-year-old actress, who has starred in hits such as “White Lotus” and “Euphoria”is one of Hollywood’s rising “stars” right now.

However, the Emmy-nominated actress accepted the producer’s backlash, which was specifically addressed to Sweeney after a screening of the film, asking the audience: “She’s not pretty, she can’t play. Why is she so “hot”?. I was watching her movie – ‘Anyone but You’ – on the plane because I wanted to see her. I wanted to know who she is and why everyone is talking about her. I watched this unwatchable movie..” said Carol Baum, among others.

Baum, who has produced more than 30 films, including “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” and “Father Of The Bride,” was speaking before an audience with New York Times film critic Janet Maslin.

Responding to the comments, a spokesperson for Sweeney told Sky News: “How sad that a woman, who is able to share her expertise and experience, chooses instead to attack another woman. If that’s what she’s learned in her decades in the industry and feels it’s okay to teach her students, that’s a shame.”
