Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman is the first Australian actress to receive the AFI’s highest film career honor.
The award has previously been awarded to Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro.

The award ceremony was scheduled for June 10, 2023, but was postponed due to the screenwriters’ strike, which ended after 146 days of protest.
The actress will finally receive the award at a gala in Los Angeles on April 27 from Meryl Streep.
