Her album Taylor Swift broke a new record with over one billion streams on Spotify as of April 22nd.

The American singer, who released the “The Tortured Poets Department” last week, she has already become the first artist on Spotify that had 300 million streams in a single day.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Spotify says: “On April 22, 2024, Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ became the most streamed album on Spotify in a week. The album has surpassed one billion streams since its release”.

The singer-songwriter has previously broken records on Spotify, becoming the first female artist on the music streaming service to reach 100 million listeners in a single month in August 2023.

The “Midnights” by Taylor Swift, reached number 1 on both sides of the Atlantic and was the most streamed album in the UK for 2023. ‘Midnights’ also broke records as the most streamed album in a day in the platform’s history , when released in October 2022.

‘The Tortured Poets Department’, her 11th album, features collaborations with Florence And The Machine and Post Malone, and her song titles and lyrics seem to refer to former partners.
