“I still make a living from this profession,” said the famous model
She was one of the first supermodels in the fashion world. THE Christy Turlington proves that age doesn’t matter and has deservedly maintained her model status over the years as she poses for his latest issue “Harper’s Bazaar”.
The 55-year-old poses topless and looks really impressive. In her interview, Christy talked about her work as a model, while referring to how her son felt because of her nude pictures during her time on the catwalks.
Although Christy Turlington maintains her job as a model, she is also committed to her role in “Every Mother Counts”an organization working hard to improve access to maternal care in Guatemala, Haiti, Bangladesh, Tanzania and the United States.
Discussing how modeling has evolved over the years, she said: “I feel lucky to have had and have the choice to be a model. I still make a living from this profession.”
She detailed the differences and contrasts of showing for fashion giants such as Chanel, Versace and Valentino – during her heyday with Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer.
“The shows were always a bit chaotic. I think we, as models, will keep some of that energy and intensity, but it’s not an easy situation.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Christy revealed that a nude photo taken during her prime was circulated among her 18-year-old son’s high school classmates when she attended one of his basketball games.
All she wanted to do was disappear, she admitted, when she learned that some of her son’s classmates had bullied him. “I was surprised it hadn’t happened sooner. But at the same time, I was like, “That’s so rude!”
Christy Turlington is married to actor and director, Ed Burnssince 2003, and have two children: Grace, 20, and Finn, 18.
