His 31-year-old singer “Love On”, who had let her team manage her account for four years, has taken several breaks from the app due to “toxicity” she’s experienced from users on social media.

“So I took a four year hiatus from Instagram and let my team post for me during those years”he explained, according to “Time.” “I felt it was the most rewarding gift I gave myself.”

The actress explained that amid her abstinence from social media, she was “more present” in her personal life – and more – and “happier”.

Now that she’s back to managing her own Instagram account, the star discussed why it can be “frustrating” at times.

“I just – I find it frustrating and then I get a little bit tight-lipped and I want to stand up for the people I love,” she admitted.

When it comes to social media, Selena Gomez opined that “it’s important to take breaks. I don’t pay much attention anymore. I just do things here and there.”
