Anitta is in the best phase of her career, especially after releasing “Funk Generation”, an album that has been successful in Brazil and abroad.
In an interview with Variety, the Brazilian singer states that talking about sex in her lyrics is a way of expressing herself, but not necessarily highlighting her current stage of life.
“I use my sexuality as a message of freedom,” he says. “It’s not like I’m telling everyone to show their vaginas. But we have the right to express ourselves without feeling embarrassed,” he adds.
To the publication, Anitta recalled the moment she broke away from her old professional contract with Warner. According to her, that moment was one of the worst in her career and meant that she no longer had the desire to produce.
At the time, Anitta stated that she was tied to the record company and that “if there was a fine to pay, I would have already auctioned off my organs.”
“I didn’t feel happy, I didn’t have any more energy. I was looking at sales numbers a lot, reading what the internet and critics had to say. And after having thought a lot about what life might look like if I gave up, or if I died, my priorities would change”, he says.
Now, the artist is all joy. She says that on May 18th she will embark on a global tour with more than 20 dates with more intimate performances. It will tour countries in North America, South America and Europe.
“I don’t like going long periods of time without seeing my family. But I’m so involved with this project that I want to do. And I still want to keep it small, to be able to look people in the eye.”
