The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be in Nigeria where they will meet members of the military and participate in a range of cultural activities, according to a statement issued by the Nigerian military spokesman.

There is no mention of the exact date of their visit to Nigeria, however, it is expected that the pair will have meetings related to the Invictus Games, founded by the British blue-blood in 2014.

The announcement of their visit to Nigeria comes at the same time it was also reported by British media that Meghan Markle will not be accompanying her husband on May 8 in London for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

The Duke of Sussex is expected to attend the Mass of thanksgiving in honor of the Invictus Games at St Paul’s Cathedral and will also deliver a speech. Actor Damian Lewis will recite a poem. According to the Daily Mail, none of the high-ranking members of the royal family will attend the ceremony.

Nigeria participated in last year’s Invictus Games and would like to host the Games on its soil in the coming years, the African country’s army spokesman said in a statement.

Prince Harry has stated that Africa is in his heart. He and his older brother, Prince William, have made frequent visits to the African continent since childhood with their parents.
