Belo still hasn’t gotten over the end of his marriage with Gracyanne, but, it seems, he also doesn’t plan on getting back together anytime soon.
In an interview with Danilo Gentili on “The Noite” (SBT), which airs this Thursday (2), the singer said that he “needs to overcome”.
“It’s been 16 years. We’re going to take it. I’m still not well, but we have to overcome it. I’ve always been very strong. I’ve been through adversity in my life, very bad moments and God lifted me up”, said Belo.
On a tour celebrating Soweto’s 30th anniversary, Belo spoke about the legacy of the group, which was part of the golden age of the Brazilian pagode. “All I have from my solo career is what Soweto gave me,” he says.
After crying on stage at the opening show of the tour, the singer explained that he combined his sadness at the end of his marriage with the emotion of being reunited with his original band.
“It was a mix of emotions. We were reliving wonderful moments from the 1990s with Soweto. I can’t normalize this, filling a stadium with 90,000 people watching and reliving this moment”, he said.
“It wasn’t a very good week for me either, I’m going through a separation. I put all that together. I’m a romantic singer, I talk about things about love, about the heart. My audience has a very direct identification with me because I can’t hide it if I’m going through for any kind of problem. I always take this to the stage”, he explained.
Belo also revealed that at the end of the year he will record a DVD with Soweto, which will have new songs.
The singer also spoke about his relationship with Denilson, with whom he had a legal dispute involving millions.
“Denílson has always been my friend. I’m a fan of Denílson, just as he was always a fan of Soweto and Belo too. I’m sure of that. Our fight was legal, in the legal sphere, about debt. Our friendship comes from childhood. I know he’s been there since he was 16. We grew up in the same neighborhood, we’re from the same place.
The program will air this Thursday (2), starting at 0:30 am, on SBT.
