It was a fiery weekend, with many accusing the leadership of two fouls, on the one hand the absence of Nikos Androulakis from the funeral of Dionysis Savvopoulos and pointing out in wells that it is as if they gave the historical form of the Greek song to the SW, but also for the director of the political office of the president who stayed in his post for only 30 hours.
It may be that the president’s staff did not do the rudimentary research on his social media profile, others, probably more experienced in technology or with a better memory, with a simple search discovered posts by Giorgos Papavasileiou in which he praised Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Nikos Dendias, Grigoris Dimitriadis and government initiatives.
His resignation George Papavasiliou a few hours later, which was accepted by Nikos Androulakis, it was a move expected by those who know the Pasok events, but it was not enough to put out the smoldering fire in the party.
The official representation of the party by KOES Secretary Yiannis Vardakastanis at the funeral of Dionysis Savvopoulos, became known even to PASOK officials on Saturday afternoon, after the social networks had been buzzing about the absence of Nikos Androulakis, but also of most political leaders of the Center Left, which many within the faction consider as inability to communicate party positions.
There are not a few, and not only from the internal opposition of Nikos Androulakis, who froze when they realized that the president’s problem that did not allow him to attend the funeral was Friday’s match in Bologna, which the Leader of the Official Opposition watched from the first row of spectators.
CEEC meeting – On hold
The polling stagnation of the party, the lack of a meeting of the organs, but also the elephant in the room which is none other than Alexis Tsipras and the mobility that his rumored party brings to the Center-Left space, have recently increased the anxiety of executives of the green faction about the course of PASOK. The decision to form K.O.E.S., with persons from all PASOK clans, looks like an attempt by the President to promote unity.
The first meeting of the Political Secretariat of K.O.E.S., which will also determine the date of the Conference, was scheduled for this week, with the most likely days being Friday or Saturday.
At this time, however, no one is putting their hand in the fire that it will take place within the week and given the disturbance that has been created in the green faction, it may be chosen by the president’s entourage to push the can for later, as experienced observers point out. However, many are betting that the meeting, whenever it takes place, will not have a celebratory style as the leadership side would like, but sharp positions on the course of the party.
