“Adrienne from Brooklyn, if you’re listening, Paul McCartney from Liverpool loves you too,” the Beatles songwriter wrote
THE Paul McCartney responded to a female fan’s declaration of love six decades ago.
The singer-songwriter of Beatles shared his response in a video message, which he posted on Instagram.
At the beginning of the video, a clip is played in which a woman, who introduces herself as Adrienne, is interviewed by a reporter before the band’s first US tour in 1963.
“Paul McCartney if you’re listening, Adrienne from Brooklyn loves you with all her heart,” the woman says.
McCartney then addresses his fan and emphasizes:
“Hi Adrien, I’m Paul. Listen, I saw your video. I’m in Brooklyn now. I’m in New York. I finally got here. We have an exhibition, a photography exhibition. Come see her!”
Paul McCartney Photographs 1963-64: Eyes of the Storm, an exhibition of Beatles photographs documenting the band’s first trip to the US, is at the Brooklyn Museum through October 18.
In a caption of the post with the video, Paul McCartney wrote: “And Adrien from Brooklyn, if you’re listening, Paul McCartney from Liverpool loves you too.”
