Gaúcha, Luísa Sonza appeals for help to Rio Grande do Sul: ‘Cover the authorities’

by

Gaucho from Tuparendi, singer Luísa Sonza, 25, made an appeal through her social networks about the floods that are worrying her state.

“Help is not reaching people in need. I am receiving from friends, family, hundreds of people here in the comments that these donations are not reaching people, those who are running and making it happen are the people, residents, volunteers and this is surreal absurd,” she said.

When asked to comment on this, the Rio Grande do Sul government’s press office did not respond. On government social networks, there are Pix accounts and other forms of donations.

Sonza quotes the mayor of Canoas, Jairo Jorge, and states that he said on video that he is not receiving support and that there would be 600 people in a church. She called on military forces to help.

“We need the Air Force, the Navy. People are stranded, the water continues to rise and this help can only come from the government. Cover the authorities, we need to understand why the resources are not arriving”, wrote the artist as a caption for a video that shows the critical state of the regions.

In addition to Sonza, more famous people campaigned for the homeless during the floods in Rio Grande do Sul. Among them, Whindersson Nunes, who used social media to share a video showing scenes of the floods in the state, narrated with music sung by himself. He managed to raise more than R$1 million to help the victims and offered to provide helicopters.

Another gaucho, born in Alegrete, Matteus Amaral, second place on BBB 24, has made several publications asking for help for residents of his state. The champions Amanda Meirelles, Juliette and Gleici Damasceno also shared vakinhas.
